You filled my heart with laughter
That rocked my world
Your sweet promises of forever...
They sparkled
In the words of an angel
And hope, like a beaming star,
Was air in my lungs
I thought... I finally found
My fairy tale in you
For somehow you made me believe
That even a helpless creature like me -
A butterly with a broken wing
Could still soar
In the midst of falling autumn leaves
As if they were rose petals of spring
Oh how the unbidden promise
In the warmth of your hands in mine
Imprinted an undeniable testimony
Of you bringing a fairy tale to life
Yet, the magic... slowly... faded
We were... robbed of time
And today, it seems
A pillar of swirling fire
Has come between us
That if we just dare grant
Ourselves a touch
We'd get burned
Once upon a time,
We had our chance
And feelings untold
Now... an unspoken hello
